My story
I’m glad you found your way to my blog 🙂
I’m Gina, 22 years old and I’m just starting my Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation in Edinburgh. The programme is a distance learning course, so I can still live at home in Germany.
As you might have guessed, I fell in love with travelling a few years ago and therefore have three different part-time jobs alongside my studies to finance little trips. Some time ago, I also discovered my passion for filming, photography and writing, which is why I decided to share my experiences here on my blog.
All my life I have been drawn to travelling abroad. I have always had a great interest in other languages, the history and cuisine of other countries and have always been obsessed with new adventures. My passion and curiosity for foreign cultures was probably shaped by the influence of my family, who always made every effort to show me the world as a little kid. I probably flew for the first time when I was just a few months old. A holiday in the Alps to go hiking or skiing was also a must for us every year, which is how I developed a strong love and sense of home for the mountains.
When I was just 16 years old, I was able to join my sister on a trip to New York for the first time. This city was beyond my imagination and showed me a whole new world. I was able to gain so many new impressions and experiences and I realised for the first time that there was so much more than my small town at home. The big wide world was out there, just waiting for me to discover it. The dream of travelling the whole world was born. For some people this dream might sound unrealistic, but I was always taught to believe in my dreams and to fight for them. And if we are completely honest… what would life be without something worth fighting for?
My aim is also to motivate you to believe in your dreams, no matter how unrealistic they may seem to others. So be brave and dive into new adventures. Who knows what the path will bring you.
I’m still at the very beginning of my journey, will probably make a lot of mistakes and still have a lot to learn, but you are very welcome to join me on my way. In my posts, I will show you the most beautiful places in the world and give you tips that you should consider on your next trip.
